Stephenson High School beat Miller Grove High School 19-7 in football Oct. 23 at Hallford Stadium.

The highlight of the game from the Wolverines was an interception returned for a touchdown for Miller Grove’s, Defensive Back, Evan Chapple.

 

Stephenson’s offense took the lead early for a 25-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter.

Miller Grove responded with Evan Chapelle returning an interception for 60 yards and a touchdown to give Miller Grove its only lead of the night.

With 22 seconds left in the first-half, Stephenson scored from a 5-yard Run  (Stephenson 13 – Miller Grove 7).

The Wolverines Quarterback, Philip Russell connected several times with wide receiver Tajeon Fletcher for several times in the second half

Half-way into the third Quarter, Stephenson’s Special Teams scored from a Punt-Return, extending the lead to Stephenson 19 – Miller Grove 7.

 

After taking a 19-7 lead,  Stephenson was able to run time off the clock and wear Miller Grove out with its defense and run game.

The Wolverines (1 – 3 ) next match-up is against Salem High School on  October, 30 at 7:30 p.m (Location: Salem High School).
